Sporting Clays Shoot
Reserving exclusive use of a sporting clays course at a local sportsman club, CWA annually organizes a fun shooting event for its members. Participants compete for prizes in a number of categories and attendance at the event extends their CWA membership for an additional year.
Wood Duck Box Building Day
The CWA and the DEEP's Wildlife Division have been cooperating for years in constructing Wood Duck boxes. DEEP supplies pre-cut lumber and CWA supplies the person power to assemble them. Wood Duck boxes played a large part in the amazing resurgence of Wood Ducks which had become scarce in the early 1900s. Today, they are doing great.
Waterfowl Hunting Training Day
Annually in cooperation with DEEP’s Wildlife Division CWA conducts a Waterfowl Hunter Training Day. Originally intended as an introduction to waterfowling for teenage hunters, the event has become an introductory course for adults new to waterfowling that are looking for information on how to successfully participate in the sport. Its popularity continues to grow at every event.
